Vær med på en musikalsk tidsreise gjennom vår vakre by. I ti tablåer forteller syklusen «De Freto Angvillarvm» om spennende hendelser i Ålesunds fortid, nåtid og framtid. Vi starter med hvordan byen ble til i den vakre og storslåtte fjordnaturen rundt oss, så leder vi deg gjennom bl.a. spansketida, svensketida, Bybrannen, jugendstilen, andre verdenskrig og sprenging av Rønneberghaugen fram til byen vi kjenner til i dag: vakre bygg, snille folk, flott natur og mange gjester på besøk. Klarer vi å lage ei lik praktfull framtid? Det kommer syklusens siste sats til å vise. 

Ålesund Symfoniorkester fyller 80 år i år, og byens lokale komponist Leonhard P. Haberl har skrevet sitt «De Freto Angvillarvm» som et jubileumsverk til orkesteret og kulturånden det står for. De latinske ordene «De Freto Angvillarvm» betyr oversatt «fra ålenes sund».

Experience a brand new composition for our beautiful Ålesund. It's not every day you can enjoy a well-deserved tribute written by a local composer, performed by our local symphony orchestra and supported by our great Jugendteater.

Join us on a musical time travel through our beautiful town. In ten scenes, the cycle "De Freto Angvillarvm" tells about exciting events in Ålesund's past, present and future. We start with how the town came to be in the beautiful and magnificent fjord nature around us, then we guide you through the Spanish era, the Swedish era, the City Fire, the Art Nouveau style, the Second World War and the blowing up of Rønneberghaugen until the town we know today: beautiful buildings, kind people, great nature and many visiting guests. Can we create an equally magnificent future? The last scene of the cycle will show that.

Ålesund Symphony Orchestra turns 80 this year, and the town's local composer Leonhard P. Haberl has written his "De Freto Angvillarvm" as a jubilee work for the orchestra and the cultural spirit it represents. The Latin words "De Freto Angvillarvm" translate to "from the strait of the eels".
