In 2017 we had a fantastic collaboration with Ålesund Ballet School with a full-length production of Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty", and finally we are ready again with a new ballet performance! Don Quixote is one of the great ballet classics from the 19th century, with, among other things, a lot of Spanish dance and folklore around one of the most adventurous figures in literary history. However, the ballet was written in Vienna in 1869 by the Austrian composer Ludwig Minkus. This is a ballet that no one in Norway outside the National Ballet in Oslo has done before. Carola Teti is the artistic director of the production and she has created our own direction and scenography for this classic. Musically, the performances are led by the experienced conductor Kjell Seim.

For this production, we have brought in Elisabetta Formento and Thomas Giugovaz as ballet soloists, both of whom are soloists at the Compania Nacional de Danza in Madrid!

Concert with intermission, duration approximately 2 hours

Tickets can be ordered here (ticket sales start Wednesday, September 18th)
